What is mParivahan app?

mParivahan is an app launched by the Government of India headed by Shri Nitin Gadkari in January 2017. It helps in the functions related to the Regional Transport Office (RTO). The app provides residents with convenient access to important transportation-related information such as driving licenses, registration certificates, tax payments, currency, emergency services and more, all accessible through a mobile device. mParivahan eliminates the need to carry physical copies of documents, making it possible to electronically present information to official authorities in a legally compliant manner.

mParivahan App Features

mParivahan application is a Government of India application developed by NIC (National Informatics Centre). It is available for free download for residents. The application has a user-friendly interface, which makes it easy for citizens to access all available services. It is a single application that is available across the country. Documents provided through similar platforms like M-Parivahan App or DigiLocker have the same legal status as physical documents. Users can choose from English, Hindi and Marathi languages and more languages will be added soon. The app is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms.

The mParivahan app offers various benefits to its users, including:

• Ability to present digital versions of their Driving License (DL) or Registration Certificate (RC) to the traffic police during vehicle checks if they do not have their physical copies.
• The ability to find information on any vehicle, whether it is accidentally parked, stolen or misplaced.
• Ability to verify used vehicle registration and age before purchase.
• INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.
• DL and RC have their own dedicated dashboards.
• Ability to provide vehicle information by inputting vehicle number even without internet connection.
• Ability to use QR code as a virtual sticker on DL or RC.
• Ability to check status of previous currencies and payment details.

To download and sign up mParivahan app:

• Download the app from the App Store
• In the menu, scroll down and click on the “Sign in” link.
• If you already have an account, select the “Sign Up” option.
• Enter your mobile number and agree to the terms and conditions.
• Verify by entering the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number.
• Enter your name and click the “Submit” button to complete your profile.
• An account will now be created for you on the mParivahan app.
• Your name and mobile number will be displayed at the top of the page, and you can now use all the features of the app.
• Select the language you prefer
• If you don’t have an account, enter your mobile number and click on the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions.
• Verify by entering the one-time password sent to your mobile number.
• Enter your name and click the “Submit” button to complete your profile.
• Your account will be created and your name and mobile number will be displayed at the top of the page, you can now use all the features of the app.

Create mParivahan Virtual RC

To create Virtual RC using mParivahan app:

• Open the mParivahan app
• Select the “Create Virtual RC” option
• Enter your RC number and press the search button
• A pop-up window will appear showing your activity record, click OK to proceed
• Your vehicle information will be displayed on your mobile device
• Scroll down to view any currency, if any, and select the “View Currency” option or click “Add to Dashboard for Virtual RC” to continue.
• Provide your chassis number and engine number for verification
• After the RC is validated, you will receive a notification to “Go to Dashboard to verify your RC information”.
• Your virtual RC will be generated and displayed on the RC dashboard
• To view Virtual RC information, go to Dashboard. A QR code, along with other relevant RC information, will be displayed
• You can save this QR code in your device and present it to the appropriate authorities when required.
